A Place at the Table
A Place at the Table is a non-profit organization with 501(3)c tax-exempt status that began as a ministry of MCC Knoxville.
Since 2015, our volunteers have provided hot meals and necessities to the homeless and those on the margins in downtown Knoxville. Each Monday night, we serve over 200 hot meals, striving to enhance the self-worth and dignity of those served. We also provide toiletries, other necessities, and donated clothing.
Some of the people served are in a temporary crisis. Others have shelter but do not have the resources to purchase food. Many work but are unable to afford housing. Some are chronically homeless.
Our goal is to assuage hunger, realizing that by meeting basic human needs, we also provide mental, social, and emotional support to individuals and families. MCC Knoxville supports this ministry through the efforts of many volunteers who prepare and serve meals, donate toiletries, accept and sort clothing for distribution, and make financial donations.

COVID-19 Note: Currently, to minimize the risk of personal contact, our volunteers are packaging as many hot to-go meals as possible along with bagged meals (a sandwich and snack) as back up. These are served on Monday evenings at 6:00 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church, 544 N. Broadway, Knoxville, TN.
